Resiliency Study
This study provides for an area-wide plan to provide concise guidance to the Watertown-Jefferson County Transportation Council (WJCTC), on best practices for integrating resilience in to its long range planning efforts. The basis for this study is rooted in the understanding that the North Country region within which the WJCTC is located is challenged by extreme weather events and changing conditions including inland flooding, more frequent and severe storm events, worsening drought, and more – all of which can affect the WJCTC’s transportation facilities and systems and result in other social and economic impacts. This study will include recommendations and best practices for incorporating resiliency into goals and objectives, performance measures and targets, risk and vulnerability assessments, needs plans, and investment and project prioritization processes for the MPO’s transportation infrastructure.
